Life OS collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no servers. It has no internet permission, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. Nothing you do in the app leaves your device.
Everything Life OS keeps is stored locally on your device, in the app’s own private storage:
This data is readable only by Life OS. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android Settings.
If you have Android’s backup enabled, Android may include this data in your own device backup. That backup belongs to you and your Google account; Life OS has no access to it.
To let you assign an app to a slot, Life OS asks Android for the list of apps on your device that have a launcher icon. That list is read on the device, shown to you in the picker, and never transmitted or stored anywhere outside the app.
Life OS does this through Android’s <queries> mechanism, limited to apps with a MAIN/LAUNCHER intent. It does not request the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission.
Tapping a slot opens the app you assigned to it. Once that app opens you are using that app, and its own privacy policy applies. Life OS passes no information to it.
“Find on Play Store” opens the Google Play Store app, or your browser, with a search term. From that point the Play Store’s own privacy policy applies.
Life OS requests no Android runtime permissions. It has no internet permission.
Life OS is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date above will change.
