This app collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us, because there is no server of ours for it to be sent to.
This policy covers the Android application Al-Qur'an
(com.foundyworks.alquran), published by Foundy Works.
What stays on your device
All of the following is written to the app's private storage on your phone and never leaves it:
- Bookmarks and your last-read position
- Reading, audio, translation and theme preferences
- Your chosen prayer-time calculation method and adjustments
- Your location, or the city you selected manually, used to calculate prayer times and the direction of the qibla
- Downloaded murattal audio files
- A flag recording whether the optional support purchase has been made
Uninstalling the app removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
Location
If you allow it, the app reads your device's location to calculate prayer times and the qibla bearing. The calculation happens entirely on your phone. Your location is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and is not stored anywhere but on your device.
You can decline the permission and choose a city manually instead; every feature keeps working.
Network use
The app is fully usable offline. The complete Qur'an text, transliterations and translations ship inside the app, and so do the adhan recordings played at prayer time.
The network is used for one thing only: downloading murattal recitation audio when you ask for it. Those files are fetched from everyayah.com, a third-party public archive of recitations. No account, identifier or personal information is sent with those requests. As with any internet request, that server can see the IP address making it; we have no relationship with it and receive nothing from it.
Payments
The app is free. There is one optional one-time purchase that unlocks the Dark and Pencil themes. It is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or handle your payment details. The app stores only a yes/no flag saying the purchase was made.
Google's handling of that transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, children included.
